Meet Jason
I’m an innovative school leader who believes education should feel alive—energizing, relevant, and deeply connected to the real world. As Principal of Academy of Arts, Careers & Technology (AACT), I’ve built my work around a simple but powerful idea: when you intentionally align energy, engagement, and empowerment, students don’t just succeed—they lead.
That belief is what sparked Bring the E to CTE.
Under my leadership, AACT has become Nevada’s top-ranked high school and Northern Nevada’s only Model STEM High School. Along the way, I’ve helped launch bold, future-focused programs—including the Northern Nevada’s first Aviation Academy—and expanded Career & Technical Education pathways across business, media, culinary arts, criminal justice, fire science, and health sciences. Every program is designed with one goal in mind: creating meaningful, real-world opportunities that prepare students for what’s next.
But the work has never been about programs alone—it’s about people.
I thrive on collaboration with teachers, industry partners, students, and communities who believe education should open doors, not limit them. The most powerful moments in my career come from watching students discover confidence, purpose, and possibility—often in places they never expected.
Outside of school leadership, I’m a husband, a proud dad, and avid fly-fisherman. I enjoy time outdorrs with my family, especially our annual multi-day river trips! I have a golden-doodle, Copper John, and 7 backyard chickens. My wife Ashley (a elementary principal) and I spend a majority of our time Ubering our two kids to sports and love cheering them on. Our family stays grounded and sane through our faith.
At the core of everything I do is a simple conviction— education shouldn’t just prepare students for a career, it should inspire them to boldly lead their best lives.
